What makes a great children's book....hmm. Maybe your six year old asking you to read the book every night to stay up late. Maybe your six year old pointing and tracing all the illustrations? I've read this book many times and found out what makes a great children's book. The illustrations and writing style reminded me of Polar Express. But, what makes a great children's book. It is the book that your child asks you every night, before they go to sleep, to read to them. This book does just that.

I loved the story line, & illustrations in this book. I bought this book to read to the Grandkids when they came to visit. It became one of their favorites. Each child was looking to take it home with them. I will be ordering a few more, so that my daughters can also read this story to them at bedtime.The other pets in the story are so adorable. Their is a nice lesson for the kids to learn as well.
